TROUPE

Matthew  Cram Dance Academy is a National award winning studio.

Led by Matthew, MCDA has competition troupes for all ages in Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, Broadway, Song & Dance and Tap.

 

We are not like any other school in Adelaide, we welcome everyone into our competitive teams - NO AUDITIONS! We do not exclude anyone.

BALLET

Pre Primary to an Advanced Level.

​

Classical Ballet is the foundation of ALL Dance - even Hip Hop! Ballet is so important and we highly encourage all students to trial our Ballet classes.

​

In addition to our Ballet classes we also offer Progressing Ballet Technique within our syllabus, which is a little like Pilates but for dancers.

​​

ACROBATICS

Skills Taught: Tumbling, Contortion, Strength, Balance and Flexibility 

Syllabus: Acrobatic Arts

 

One of our most popular classes at MCDA. Work to strengthen your muscles and flexibility in a safe and correct way., taught by qualified Acrobatic Arts teacher - Matthew Cram.

In the beginning students work on the basics; rolls, handstands, cartwheels and backbends which then progresses into much harder tricks as they strengthen their skills.

​

Acro classes are typically split by level of difficulty rather than age. Every student is different and Matthew will work with your dancer to set goals and help achieve them.

TAP

Tap classes are offered to all age groups including exam work.

​

Our Tap classes are made up of half GWT/exam work and the other half working on a routine for competition and our End of Year Concert. This gives the kids an opportunity to not only perform but to learn a combination of steps which they then have to remember and perfect.

Tap Syllabus: Glen Wood Tap

HIP HOP

Our Hip Hop teacher Dylan will instantly make each student feel comfortable and confident.

​

Learn correct Hip Hop technique and work on proper form to be able to then bring that into combinations and troupe work.

​

This class is a great introduction to dance as there is no pressure and a heap of FUN!! Gain confidence, learn some cool moves and make new friends!

TECHNIQUE

Always wonder why MCDA dancers are so strong and can dance like machines?

 

This incredible program is not only an introduction to the technique behind dance but it also teaches the foundations and the progressions to achieve some crazy things!

 

Condition your body through strength, stretch and stability with a specially designed program aimed at dancers wanting to gain strength, flexibility and learn the correct techniques behind turns, jumps and kicks.

MCSQUAD

An elite training program created for the dedicated dancer. This program has been carefully thought after by Matthew Cram to offer his expertise and training to all dancers that are willing to work hard and push themselves.

 

Train in Elite technique exercises, conditioning, pilates, PT and Progressing Ballet Technique.

 

This program is opened to all students outside of MCDA that are wanting extra technique training. 

AERIAL

This is fast becoming a really popular addition to our dance classes. Learn skills and tricks taught on a hoop.

ALL progressions are carefully planned to ensure complete safety.

HEELS

A very popular style of dance.

Learn to dance in stiletto heels and watch your confidence sky rocket! A new combo each week and a routine performed at our end of year showcase.

For any professional dancer, it is a must to dance in heels - this is the place to start!

PBT

Enhance your dance and fitness journey
with Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT).

 

An innovative body conditioning and strength-
building program that prioritises muscle
memory development through ballet-specific
exercises.

MCDA uses PBT in all ballet classes as well as MCSQUAD.
